TABOR Season Finale
As was expected, the state Senate voted against writing fiscal policy into the state constitution this evening.
There were two votes that took place, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel DayWatch blog. The first was a substitute amendment released today by Sen. Glenn Grothman and the second was the amendment approved by the Assembly at an after-bar party last week.
The JS only lists the vote count on the first of the two, which came out 19-13 against the new Grothman substitute amendment.
So that does it for this year.
We'll need to wait at least seven or eight months before all the wacky fun starts up again.

You actually believe the Republicans will retain the majority this fall?
I expect they might keep a majority in at least one of the houses.
Plus, even if they're not in the majority, passing an amendment like TABOR will always be an issue for some in the GOP. The question is how long the moderate majority within the Republican Party will continue to entertain the whims of the far fiscal right.
