How to Treat a Federalist

There's a great article by Dahlia Lithwick in Slate from yesterday that explains how some Democrats (I notably exclude Russ Feingold from this group) should've handled the questioning of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito this week.

And the Republicans could learn from this article, too. The over-reaching by some Democrats on the Judiciary Committee this week was easily countered by the lobbing of softball questions by Republicans. Neither group made the most of the hearings (again, I notably exclude Russ Feingold).
