The Coalition for Tragic Irony

Also known as the Coalition for America's Families.

I've written about this GOP front-group here and here, but Xoff has the really big scoop on CFAF's head, who also chairs Paul Bucher's AG campaign, Steve King.

It turns out King was intimately involved in the Watergate cover-up as part of the Committee to Re-Elect the President (CREEP) in the early 1970s. That president, of course, was Richard Nixon.

What makes this so noteworthy now is that CFAF just released an anti-Doyle ad titled "Nixon" that utilizes the disgraced former president during some of his finest hours. Hours that, it turns out, King helped to make happen.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you not only define, but also truly embody and embrace irony. In this case, I suppose, tragic irony.
